The course in Rotterdam is known as one of the fastest in the world. No fewer than three world records have been broken here in the past. The course maps will be updated later.

Course maps

NN Marathon Rotterdam - 42,195 km

Since 2018, the famous course of the NN Marathon Rotterdam contains a new start location. Participants will start at the foot of the Erasmusbrug and will continue in the direction of de Kop van Zuid. The breathtaking course passes several highlights of Rotterdam. Along the way, thousands of supporters will motivate the participants. The finish is situated on the vibrant Coolsingel. The course of the NN Marathon Rotterdam is the same as the course of the TBI Business Runs.

AA Drink 1/4 Marathon - 10,55 km

The start of the course of the AA Drink ¼ Marathon Rotterdam is situated on the Burgemeester van Walsumweg, close to the iconic Markthal. Participant will run underneath the cube houses through the heart of Rotterdam. The total length of the course is 10.55K and crosses a part of the official marathon course. At Kralingen, many spectators are there to support. All participants will receive an exact time registration for the 10K, next to their finish time of the ¼ marathon. The last 550 meter are there to enjoy an epic finish on the vibrant Coolsingel.

City Run Rotterdam - 4,2 km

The course of 4.2 kilometer begins at a new start location on the Coolsingel. After the Coolsingel, the course passes a part of the Maasboulevard and returns via the Leuvehaven back to the vibrant Coolsingel. The energy and support are second to none – you have to experience it to understand.

NN Kids Runs - 1 & 2,5 km

From start to finish, the NN Kids Runs are hailed as possibly the most enjoyable category. Also the NN Kids Runs start at a new start location on the Coolsingel. The courses pass the Erasmusbrug and then turn around back to the famous Coolsingel. For all participants, the finish is a moment which they will never forget.

Bib numbers

Receiving your bib number
Dutch participants in the NN Kids Runs and TBI Business Runs will receive their bib number by post no later than the week before the event if you have registered before the 13th of March for the NN Kids Runs or before the 4th of March for the TBI Business Runs. If you have signed up later, you can pick up your race kit at the Marathon Sport Expo.

Pick up your bib number
We will send the confirmation of entries for the NN Marathon Rotterdam, AA Drink 1/4 Marathon Rotterdam or the City Run Rotterdam by email at the end of March. Upon presentation of this unique confirmation you can pick up your bib number at the Marathon Sport Expo during the marathon weekend. As it is a personal document please do not share this on social media.

When you haven't received your confirmation of entry
We will send the confirmations of entry at the end of March. It is possible our mail will end up in your spam box. Please check that box as well. If you haven't received our mail, or you have been unsubscribed from our mailing list, you can get a copy at the counter “Copy confirmation of entry”.

 

Start waves

The start waves are organised by your best- or expected time, as you stated on your registration before the 12th of March. From March 12th, all participants are automatically assigned to the last start wave. Please note: it is then no longer possible to change your start wave or start time.

Travel advice Saturday April 4

Participants and spectators are encouraged to use public transportation on the race day. The nearest stops of public transportation are train station Rotterdam Centraal, metrostation Beurs and Blaak. Please keep in mind large parts of the city will be closed to traffic and it will be very crowded in the city.

Participants are advised: 
- Take the train to Rotterdam Centraal to get to the meeting point for schools at Doelstraat
- Take the metro to Beurs or Blaak to get to the start location next to World Trade Center

Spectators are advised:
- Take the metro to Beurs or Blaak to get to the start location next to World Trade Center
- Take the metro to Beurs to get to the finish on the Coolsingel

A great idea, because on race day large parts of the city will be closed to traffic. Train stations Rotterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Blaak are both within walking distance of the event location and the Marathon Sport Expo. 

OV-Chipkaart
There is no separate OV-chipkaart for foreigners. As a foreigner you will purchase an anonymous OV-chipkaart or a disposable OV-chipkaart. You will purchase either card at the counter for a public transport company, the device at the station, at a newsagent or at a supermarket. Click here to read more about an OV-chipkaart.

NS Ticket
You can also purchase a NS ticket in the form of an E-ticket. That is quick and easy and means you don't have to queue at the ticket machine.

By metro (RET)

A great idea, because on race day large parts of the city will be closed to traffic. Metro stations Centraal Station, Beurs and Blaak are within walking distance of the event location and the Marathon Sport Expo.

There is no separate OV-chipkaart for foreigners. As a foreigner you will purchase an anonymous OV-chipkaart or a disposable OV-chipkaart. By car

Not a good idea, because on race day large parts of the city will be closed to traffic and limited parking spaces are available. We kindly ask you to come with public transportation. You can drive to a P+R (Park & Ride) parking lot just outside Rotterdam city centre, provided that you use public transport. The P+R areas in Rotterdam are always located at a bus or metro station and you are in downtown Rotterdam within a couple of minutes without any traffic jams.

- to take the metro to Beurs to get to the start location

1/4 Marathon participants are advised:

- to take the metro to Wilhelminaplein to get to the NN Marathon Rotterdam start location

You can easily follow the marathon by using the metro. Check out the course map to find your metro station(s). All metro's have a free WiFi service so you can keep tracking your runner(s) via our Live-Tracking service in the app.

Water bus
