Choukoud recently demonstrated that he is in good shape. Earlier this year, he had good times with the "CZ Tilburg ten Miles", the "Dam tot Dam Loop" and the "Singelloop Utrecht". He was the first Dutchman to cross the finish line at all three events.

In October of this year, the organisation announced that 29-year-old Koen Naert will be at the start of the 39th NN Marathon Rotterdam next spring. The Belgian athlete from Roeselaere is no stranger to Rotterdam. In 2017, he also ran the marathon in Rotterdam in a fast time of 2:10:16 and was the 10th-placed finisher overall. His goal is to improve his PB on Sunday 7 April, at the Coolsingel.

The approximately 17,000 participants will start at the foot of the iconic Erasmus Bridge on Sunday 7 April at 10:00. The finish is still on the Coolsingel, the vibrant centrepiece of the marathon weekend. The registration for the 39th edition of the popular NN Marathon Rotterdam is going down a storm. 50% of the starting numbers have already been sold out.
